Medical Claims
Medical practitioners owe a duty of care to patients in providing medical care. Practitioners have a responsibility to exercise reasonable care and skill – and often the failure to do so can result in serious injury, ongoing medical expenses, loss of employment and considerable stress.
You may be entitled to compensation as a result of the following:
- misdiagnosis of a condition or failure to diagnose
- failure to adequately explain and disclose the risks involved in medical treatment, and the options available
- failure to exercise reasonable care and skill in performing a medical procedure, such as surgery
- failure to provide proper post-operative care.
If you have suffered ongoing injury or illness in circumstances such as these it is important that you seek legal advice as soon as possible, as claims for damages must be made no later than three years following the date of injury.
